Bollé Safety

In 1888, in the town of Oyonnax, France, Louis Seraphin Bollé founded Bollé, starting with the production of combs and hairdressing accessories. This modest beginning gradually evolved into a reputation for craftsmanship and innovation, particularly in the field of eye protection. Over the years, Bollé expanded its expertise and reach, and today, its headquarters are based in Lyon, the famed "City of Lights," where the company's legacy continues to grow and develop in the realm of protective eyewear.

1888-1936: The early years

By 1936, the Bollé family had earned a prestigious reputation, often hailed as the "kings of glasses" due to their meticulous craftsmanship. This unwavering dedication to quality became synonymous with the iconic crown that adorned Bollé Safety products—a symbol of excellence and precision that continues to define us today. We still proudly incorporate the crown into our designs, serving as a reminder of our rich heritage and our commitment to creating eyewear that truly stands out.

1950: Pioneering Safety

In 1950, we introduced our very first safety glasses and goggles, setting a new standard in protection, comfort, and style. From the beginning, our mission has been clear: to safeguard workers while helping them see all they can do. This innovative approach revolutionized the industry, blending performance with design, and showcasing our commitment to empowering people to reach their full potential with confidence and clarity.

1960: Protecting our first responders

The Industrial Protection division has a proud history of supplying essential protective gear to the French Army, Navy, and the aerospace sector. Today, we’ve expanded our mission, designing high-performance products that cater not only to those on duty, but also to responders in their off-duty activities, ensuring comprehensive protection no matter the situation.

1981: Prescription Safety Eyewear

For over 40 years, we’ve been at the forefront of prescription safety eyewear, starting in 1981 with the introduction of our first range that combined technology with user needs to ensure optimal safety and vision correction. Today, our innovative services continue to evolve, meeting these needs wherever they arise—Here, There, and Everywhere—allowing you to experience safety at your specs.

2000: Bollé Safety Worldwide

Since the year 2000, Bollé Safety has been dedicated to expanding its presence across the world, now operating in more than 80 countries. With headquarters strategically located in key regions, we ensure we are always close to our customers, partners, and end-users, providing tailored support and responses to their needs. Our commitment to safety and precision is reflected in our adherence to the highest international standards, including EN166, ANZI, AS/NZS, MIL-PRF, and STANAG, ensuring that our safety and tactical products meet the demands of every industry and environment.

2014: The ultimate anti-fog solution

Launch of our PLATINUM anti-fog and anti-scratch technology, delivering ultimate resistance on both sides of the lens. This innovation ensures clear vision and long-lasting protection against fogging and scratches in any environment. It is 100X more effective than the highest anti-fog standard*
