What are the standards for eye protection in airsoft?

STANAG and MIL-PRF standards are used for military protection, while the standards adapted to airsoft take into account the impact energy measured in joules to ensure effective protection against BB impacts. For airsoft practice, there are different standards to consider for ballistic goggles and glasses. Each standard corresponds to a resistance measured in joules, up to 2 joules.

The highest protection is provided by those rated up to 2 joules, namely the EN166B, EN ISO 16321 D, and EN ISO 16321 E standards. These standards guarantee sufficient resistance against direct impacts from airsoft BBs, whether on the lens or the structure of the goggles.
